This is a way to find out your measurement when we don't have rings to use as a reference, and also when we don't have a ring gauge or ring gauge nearby. However, for it to work it must be correctly followed, as its accuracy is not high. You will need wire and a ruler. If you have difficulties, ask someone to help you with this procedure. Turn the wire around the finger you want to measure, leaving it very round and not squeezing. Measure the diameter, open the wire and check the circumference. Be careful, make sure you are actually measuring the part of the wire that was around your finger.
